Mike Gallagher is an accomplish Banker with thirty years of total banking experience including over twenty years as a Compliance and BSA Leader and Officer. Mike is currently serving as the Chief BSA Officer of the digitally based VersaBank USA which is headquartered in Minneapolis Minnesota.

Mike currently holds four banking-related certifications with the CAMS, CCAS, CRCM, and the CAFP certifications.

Mike’s banking experience includes leadership positions in commercial banking, lending, leasing, private banking, retail banking, operations, audit, loan review, whole bank compliance, and BSA. Mike has honed his expertise in anti-money laundering (AML), audit management, and regulatory compliance over these last two decades, during which he has held various leadership roles including as a BSA/OFAC Officer, demonstrating a commitment to risk management and operational excellence.

Mike is known for his strategic approach to problem-solving and team leadership, fostering a culture of compliance within organizations. Beyond his technical skills, Mike is passionate about coaching and developing talent in the banking sector which is evidenced by the creation of multiple State and National peer groups (Twin City BSA Peer group, National Cryptocurrency Peer Group, Midsize Digital Bank Peer Group, and ABA Genius/Digital Asset Peer Group).

Mike has spoken locally and nationally on cannabis, hemp, stablecoins, fraud, tokenized assets, enhanced due diligence, and BSA/AML, and loves connecting with other Bankers to share ideas, concepts, and processes so we can all do Risk better.
