The Honorable Rodney E. Hood is one of the nation’s most distinguished leaders in financial services, with more than three decades of executive, regulatory, and governance experience spanning banking, financial regulation, risk management, innovation, and financial inclusion.

A historic figure in American financial regulation, Mr. Hood is the first individual in United States history to lead both federal regulatory agencies responsible for insured depository institutions — serving as Acting Comptroller of the Currency and previously as Chairman of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Across multiple presidential appointments in the Administrations of President George W. Bush and President Donald J. Trump, he played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s financial policy and supervisory framework. During his tenure as Acting Comptroller of the Currency, Mr. Hood served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), as a voting member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), and as Chairman of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).

Today, Mr. Hood serves as an independent director and trusted advisor to leading financial institutions and technology firms. His board and advisory roles include Northpointe Bank (NYSE: NPB), the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, ModernFi, Zest AI, ICE US Futures, and the International Advisory Board of Strategic Resource Management (SRM). He also serves as a Board Observer to Vestwell and Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of Ally Financial.

Prior to public service, Mr. Hood held senior leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, NationsBank (now Bank of America), GE Capital, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He also served on the University of North Carolina System Board of Governors and as Chairman of NeighborWorks America.

Mr. Hood earned his degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied Communications, Business Administration, and Political Science. In recognition of his distinguished career in public service, financial leadership, and national impact, he was recently honored with the university’s Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Recognized globally for his leadership, Mr. Hood is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, a Salzburg Global Fellow, and a Young Leader of the American Council on Germany. He regularly collaborates with central bankers, regulators, and financial leaders across the United Kingdom, European Union, Japan, Africa, and the Middle East.

A sought-after keynote speaker and thought leader, Mr. Hood has authored commentary featured in the Wall Street Journal, American Banker, and other leading publications.
